In the Great Meadow, Milo the Monkey finds a small wooden box and thinks it is just a fun new thing to keep. Inside, he sees a simple leaf and believes it is useless, so he throws it away without thinking. His friend Ziggy the Bird tries to warn him that even small things can be important to someone else, but Milo does not listen.
Later, Milo suddenly feels very sick and needs help. Grandma Shelly arrives and explains that the cure for his pain was a special leaf kept inside a small wooden box—the same one Milo found earlier. Milo realizes that the leaf he threw away was not useless at all, but very important.
This story teaches children that we should never take things that do not belong to us, even if they seem small or unimportant. It also shows that being honest and respectful helps us avoid problems.
