It was the year 5 AH. The enemies of Islam formed a coalition called the Confederates or Al-Ahzab. They united thousands of warriors from the Quraysh, the Ghatafan tribe and other groups. Their goal was to destroy the community in Madinah.
This event became one of the amazing chapters in Islamic history. It was a battle won not by fighting in the field but by being clever, patient, united and with the help of Allah.

Then something amazing happened. Nu'aym ibn Masud secretly converted to Islam. He tricked the leaders into not trusting each other. This broke the coalition from within.
After that a strong windstorm came. It scattered the enemy camp. Drove them home in disarray.
