The wife of Pharaoh was a special woman. Her husband was the powerful man on earth. He even thought he was a god.. Asiyah chose to believe in Allah. She gave up all the comforts and security that came with being the wife of Pharaoh.
Asiyah is the subject of a book by Manarah Publishing. The book is part of the Noble Womens Stories Series. This series is meant to inspire Muslims. Asiyahs story is very inspiring. It starts when she found Musa in a basket floating in the Nile. She felt sorry for the baby. Wanted to help him. She asked Pharaoh to spare the childs life. Asiyah said the baby would be "a comfort of the eye for me and for you".
Asiyah took care of Musa when he was a baby. When Musa became a prophet Asiyah believed in him. She knew that believing in Musa would make her husband angry. Pharaoh was a man. He tortured Asiyah because she believed in Musa.. Asiyah did not give up. She prayed to Allah. She said "My Lord build for me near You a house, in Paradise and save me from Pharaoh and his deeds and save me from the wrongdoing people."
The story of Asiyah explores her life in the palace. It talks about the wealth and power she had.. It also talks about what she chose over all those things. Asiyah found Musa when he was a baby. She helped raise him. When she believed in Musa she showed courage. The Quran recorded her prayer. It is a prayer that Muslims can still learn from today.
Asiyahs story teaches us a lesson. It teaches us that our faith is not measured by what we have. It is measured by what we're willing to give up for Allah. Asiyah had everything.. She chose to give it all up for Allah. She chose the thing that truly matters.
