Description

Tajweed Rules for Adults Book 4 by Manarah Publishing is the fourth volume in the Madinah Tajweed Series for adults - the structured, rigorous Tajweed curriculum used in Islamic institutes and by serious adult learners worldwide. Book 4 occupies the pivotal middle position in the series: consolidating everything learned in Books 1-3 while opening the gateway to the more advanced content of Books 5-7.By the completion of Book 3, adult students have a thorough grounding in the foundational rule sets: makharij al-huruf, the four rules of noon sakinah and tanween, the three rules of meem sakinah, and the introductory treatment of qalqalah. Book 4 builds on each of these with the depth and nuance that intermediate-level learners are ready to receive.Key content of Book 4:Qalqalah - complete and applied: the introductory treatment of qalqalah in earlier books is expanded in Book 4 to a comprehensive treatment - covering all five qalqalah letters (qaf, ta, ba, jeem, dal), the three degrees of qalqalah (minor: mid-word, major: end of word with pausing, extreme: shadda with pausing), and the precise phonological quality of the echoing sound. Common errors in producing qalqalah are identified and corrected through targeted exercises.Waqf (pausing) and ibtida' (resuming) - comprehensive study: one of the most practically significant topics in Tajweed is how and where to pause in Quran recitation. Book 4 provides a thorough treatment of the four categories of waqf (tam - complete, kafi - sufficient, hasan - good, qabih - poor), explains the waqf symbols used in the standard Uthmanic mushaf, and teaches the rules governing what happens to the last letter of a word when you pause on it (including the transformation of ta marbuta and the treatment of sukun at pause). Correct ibtida' (knowing where it is and is not permitted to resume reading) is also covered.Introductory madd rules: Book 4 introduces the first madd category - madd al-tab'i (natural elongation, 2 counts) - as a preparation for the full madd system covered in Books 5-6. Students learn to identify the three conditions that produce natural madd (waw sakin preceded by dammah, ya sakin preceded by kasrah, alif sakin preceded by fathah) and to produce the elongation with consistent, measurable length.Applied recitation review: all four books of content to date are reviewed and applied through extended recitation practice, building the integrated fluency that is the goal of all Tajweed study.
